Studying the turbulence energy and enstrophy cascade dynamics using bandpass filter based multiscale methods. The scales are educed using bandpass filters and the inter-scale energy and enstrophy interactions are calculated. These are then used to study the aspects of locality, intermittency and scaling of energy cascade in physical as well as scale space, and with Reynolds number. The work will help improve our understanding of the multi-scale nature of turbulence and further aid in the modelling efforts.

My research work entails the study of the Vortex Ring State phenomenon in descent flight of helicopters. It includes simulating the VRS wake using Euler and URANS solvers in a two bladed helicopter rotor and studying the physics of this phenomenon. Studies on VRS are essential, as the phenomenon severely hampers control and restricts a helicopter's safe operating range.
Research Interests: CFD, Aerodynamics, Helicopter Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics

My primary research interests are “Transition and Turbulent flows”. I seek the growth of turbulent spots within the boundary layer as the transition takes place from Laminar to Turbulent. My research is towards the experimental techniques to detect the growth of these turbulent spots.
